UPDATE: The AP has confirmed that Nate Dogg has died. PREVIOUSLY: Nate Dogg is dead, according to a report in his hometown Long Beach Press Telegram, which cited a family announcement. Friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg appeared to confirm the news by tweeting, “RIP NATE DOGG” and later “We lost a true legend n hip hop n rnb. One of my best friends n a brother to me since 1986 when I was a sophomore at poly high where we met.” The legendary musician, whose real name was Nathaniel D. Hale, was part of the west coast rap scene and collaborated on hit songs with many top recording artists including Warren G, 50 Cent and Eminem. He was 41 and had battled health complications. We’ve already seen Evoluce toy around with Kinect hacks and multitouch displays , and it’s now inevitably managed to combine the two. The company has just announced its new I-Voluce display, which fuses a standard 46-inch LCD with some integrated “3D depth sensing technology” that’s apparently not simply a repurposed Kinect — exact details on it are light, but it will apparently work from a distance of up to 13 feet, and it relies on Windows 7 for an OS. That’s obviously not designed for home use, but Evoluce does see plenty of potential for the displays in public spaces like museums, as well as in office and education environments. For those that prefer a more hands-on approach, Evoluce also has an updated version of its Surface -style multitouch table, the Evoluce Two, which also packs 3D depth sensing technology and can accommodate up to six users simultaneously. Of course, neither exactly come cheap — look for prices to start at €3,995, or about $5,600. Rush Limbaugh laughed about Japanese refugees recycling after the earthquake that struck the country on his Tuesday show. A caller asked Limbaugh, “If these are the people that invented the Prius, have mastered public transportation, recycling, why did Mother Earth, Gaia if you will, hit them with this disaster?” Limbaugh called this an “interesting question,” and played a clip of ABC’s Diane Sawyer reporting from a shelter in Japan. In the clip, Sawyer is surprised that the refugees in the shelter have maintained a recycling program. Limbaugh first mocked Sawyer, doing an impression of her and saying that “she sounds like she saw her husband for the first time in six months.” He then turned to his caller’s question. “He’s right,” Limbaugh said. “They’ve given us the Prius. Even now, refugees are recycling their garbage.” Here, he began to laugh, continuing, “and yet, Gaia levels them! Just wipes them out!” This angle has been something of a theme for Limbaugh; last week, he wondered if environmentalists would “cheer” the quake. Watch (via Media Matters):
