Continue reading …We’ve seen the ads and been teased with a short snippet of video, but here she is in all her peaches-and-cream glory: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in her Burberry Body commercial. She very slowly unbuttons her trench while staring at us beguilingly. A few spritzes of fragrance, then she’s laying on the ground half naked. OK. Burberry is obviously going for sensual glamour here, and they nailed it. Grazia… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Fashionista Discovery Date : 01/09/2011 14:30 Number of articles : 4
Continue reading …An enraged Sean Hannity reacted to a controversial Politico article about Rick Perry’s intelligence by questioning President Obama’s intelligence for almost eight minutes. The Politico piece had a blunt title: “Is Rick Perry Dumb?” Writer Jonathan Martin spent nearly 1,800 words pondering the question, essentially concluding that, while Perry is not an “ideas man,” he has a sharp and potent political mind and should not be underestimated. Hannity was incensed, though, seeing a clear case of liberal media bias. “The question of intelligence is one the mainstream media never bothered to ask about President Obama,” he said. He then brought on Tucker Carlson and Democratic cable news mainstay Steve McMahon on to discuss just that. “If he’s such a genius he would have not lost two and a half million jobs,” Hannity began. He then ran through a series of gaffes Obama has made over the years before settling on his favorite one: the president pronouncing the word “corpsman” as “corpseman.” “What’s a navy corpseman?” Hannity mockingly asked. “He read it three times in one speech, he doesn’t know what a corpsman is! Genius that he is!” McMahon started to say, “The conversation we should be having,” but he was cut off by Hannity. “I want to know!” he shouted. “That’s my conversation.” Hannity also said he would like to read Obama’s Harvard and Columbia theses, and see his grades. But he kept returning to that “corpsman” issue. “He read his teleprompter three times and he doesn’t know ‘corpsman’!” he said to McMahon at one point. “And he’s the commander in chief and you don’t have the courage to admit it!” Eventually, Hannity just started repeating the word “corpsman” over and over again. “Every liberal’s a genius that drives the economy into a ditch,” he concluded. “…I don’t think he’s that smart.” WATCH: Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com

We managed to sneak in some time with the device today at IFA, and we have to say, we like what we see. The Rip (that’s “Record. Image. Preserve.”) is the latest addition to the Boogie eWriter line, devices that let you scribble notes and drawings and can be wiped away with the press of a button (think a more legible Etch A Sketch ). The Rip ups the ante with the addition of a microUSB port, which lets you transfer notes as PDFs to your computer. Improv was careful to point out that the device is currently in prototype mode, so we won’t hold too much again the company for the product’s plasticy feel — though, if its predecessor is any indication, the final version likely won’t be too far from this one, and the company confirmed that the final version will have the same charcoal color. And while the product is indeed plasticy, it certainly feels sturdy. More after the break. Continue reading …The Young Turks ‘ Cenk Uygur weighs in on a recent article at the Huffington Post via Reuters, which at a time when we’ve got record income disparity in the United States is yet another example of why we need to get the money out of politics, do something to fix these corporate tax loopholes and offshore tax havens and last but not least, address the issue of CEO pay being completely out of whack with what the average employee out there is making. Highest-Paid CEOs Often Earn More Than Company Pays In Income Taxes, Study Finds : Twenty-five of the 100 highest paid U.S. CEOs earned more last year than their companies paid in federal income tax, a pay study said on Wednesday. It also found many of the companies spent more on lobbying than they did on taxes. At a time when lawmakers are facing tough choices in a quest to slash the national debt, the report from the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), a left-leaning Washington think tank, quickly hit a nerve. They went on to say that after reading this, ranking member Democratic Representative, Elijah Cummings called for a hearing on executive compensation to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s chair, Darrell Issa. I’m not holding my breath for that to do an ounce of good. That said, I’d like to hear more statements like this from every Democrat in the near future: In a letter to that committee’s chairman, Republican Darrell Issa, Cummings asked “to examine the extent to which the problems in CEO compensation that led to the economic crisis continue to exist today.” He also asked “why CEO pay and corporate profits are skyrocketing while worker pay stagnates and unemployment remains unacceptably high,” and “the extent to which our tax code may be encouraging these growing disparities.” Go read the rest of the article for a breakdown of some of the numbers that Cenk talked about in the clip above. And as he noted towards the end of the clip, this is yet another example of why that repatriation tax holiday is just a really bad idea .
Continue reading …The rise of government surveillance is a troublesome legacy of the September 11 attacks. Today, video cameras are visible everywhere in public places, recording people’s every move. But what about spying that can’t be spotted? Ten years after 9/11, new questions are being raised about what the US government is secretly doing on the internet and through satellites, using the Patriot Act and other national security law as justification. Two American senators with access to top-secret intelligence raised the alarm in May, suggesting that the invasion of law-abiding Americans’ privacy was being carried out clandestinely – and that people would be shocked if they knew the…
