Syrian president to address nation amid crackdown, refugee exodus

Cairo – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday plans to make a third major speech since protests against his government began in mid-March, the state news agency SANA reported. The speech would be about ‘current developments in Syria’ and would take place at noon (0900 GMT), the agency said late Sunday without elaborating….
