SAM KIM Associated Press= SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Heavy rain sent a landslide barreling into a resort in a northern South Korean town Wednesday, leaving 12 people dead and two others missing, officials said. Eight of those killed in the early morning landslide were college students who had been doing volunteer work. They were staying in a resort cabin in Chuncheon, about two hours northeast of Seoul, when the mud and debris engulfed them, Byun In-soo of the town’s fire station said. South Korea has been pummeled with strong rain this week, and more than 10 inches (250 millimeters) have fallen on Chuncheon in the last two days.
