Horrified residents surveyed the damage to their community today after a night of rioting and looting following the fatal shooting of a local man by police. Scotland Yard said this morning that 26 police officers were injured after trouble flared up in Tottenham, north London, last night and eight police officers were being treated in hospital. 42 people were arrested for offences including violent disorder, burglary and theft.
