Want to know where you’ll spend and where you’ll to save? Each year, consulting firm Mercer carries out its Cost of Living Survey and compiles a ranking of the world’s most expensive cities. Mercer compares 214 cities across the world, looking at the costs of housing, transportation, household goods and entertainment. The results may surprise you. For the second year in a row, an African city you rarely hear about in the press topped the list, while Pakistan’s Karachi ranked cheapest. Only three European cities remained in the top ten, while Brazil saw two cities climb their way up the chart.
