Labor Day Action Against Anti-Union Tactics At T-Mobile

In its Labor Day email to supporters, LabourStart sent out the Top 10 labor music videos (such as Pete Seeger’s song above) and an action for people to take against T-Mobile: With its workers seeking to join the Communications Workers of America (CWA-TU) T-Mobile USA has responded with threats and scare tactics aimed at blocking these efforts to organize. Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile USA’s parent company, has a proven record of respect for workers’ rights and engagement in collective bargaining related to wages and working conditions. Now, we are joining together to deliver a message to Deutsche Telekom that we expect better from a corporation committed to social justice. Join our demand that T-Mobile USA stop bullying workers and agree to end all interference in their workers’ decision to join CWA-TU. Take action by sending the following message to Deutsche Telekom’s CEO Rene Obermann: T-Mobile USA workers deserve a fair chance to decide about whether or not to join CWA-TU. By ignoring the bullying, threats and fear tactics levied at workers by one of your largest business units, you are eroding the image of DT before its customers in the US and around the world. We demand that T-Mobile USA enter into an agreement to end all interference and respect right of the workers to decide for themselves about whether or not to join the union.
