Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan Bows Out

Japan’s Naoto Kan has announced that he’s quitting, amid a perceived lack of leadership over the tsunami disaster. He’s resigned as ruling party chief, and will leave the prime minister’s office once the DPJ picks a replacement. (Aug. 26)
