Regional train derails after hitting car on tracks in Lauterbach between Leipzig and Chemnitz Nearly 50 people were injured when a regional train hit a car in eastern Germany. Federal police spokesman Torsten Henkel said the train crashed into a car, which had been hit by another vehicle and pushed on to the tracks in Lauterbach, between Leipzig and Chemnitz. He said that the driver of the car managed to get out before the accident, but the train was unable to stop in time. Three of the train cars derailed and one tipped over on its side, seriously injuring nine people. Another 40 people received minor injuries.
