Court Bumps Emanuel Off Chicago Ballot

He left his post as President Obama’s chief of staff with the stated intention of becoming Chicago’s next mayor, but on Monday, Rahm Emanuel was forced to put his plans on hold by an Illinois state appellate court panel, which decided that he failed to meet a basic standard for eligibility. But Emanuel, of course, plans to fight on.
