BELFAST, Northern Ireland – Police in Northern Ireland say that nearly 50 families have been evacuated from homes in north Belfast following a dissident republican threat. Chief Superintendent Mark Hamilton said Wednesday that police had received several calls overnight warning of a bomb, including one call suggesting that the bomb had become unstable. Police say army experts were checking out a possible improvised device near a police station. The republican dissidents are opposed to the Irish Republican Army’s backing for Northern Ireland’s peace process, and have kept up a campaign of violence….
