Is your Xbox 360′s bundled controller not loving you quite like it should? Razer’s ready to pick you up on the rebound with its updated Onza controller for Microsoft’s console. The Tournament Edition offers analog sticks with adjustable resistance, an improved D-pad, backlit action buttons, and a pair of added programmable keys. The Standard version eschews the backlight and analog customizability, but keeps the other improvements. Pre-orders for both begin on January 17th, with the Tournament costing $50 / €50 and the Standard asking for $40 / €40. Dell hasn’t had a regular booth or presser at CES in a few years now — the company chooses to bunker down in a suite at the Palms instead. That’s where we’re currently hangin’, waiting to see what Round Rock has in store for us this year — and there’s a huge Alienware Hummer parked outside, so we’re definitely expecting some gaming news. President Obama has taken an admirable stand for fiscal austerity, and blasted attempts to yet again raise the debt ceiling, which currently stands at $14.3 trillion (with a T) – or roughly the GDP of the United States. Said the president: The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. Just kidding. That was Senator Obama in 2006 , when debt was apparently a far larger problem – even though the ceiling was only(!) $9 trillion at the time. read more

As we eagerly wait for Netflix and VUDU to hit the peppy, young Boxee Box, The New York Times is reporting that the company has inked a deal with CBS for selling episodes through the software platform. As you know, the aforementioned network has traditionally tread carefully in the digital distro arena, while this is the first such deal between Boxee and a television network. “It’s a major step for us, working with the biggest network in the U.S.,” said the company, who expressed hopes that this is “the beginning of more deals with more major content providers both here in the U.S. and abroad.” Just what we needed: more ways to watch Two and a Half Men .
