Pat Buchanan: Black People Bought ‘Propaganda’ On The ‘Liberal Plantation’ (VIDEO)

Pat Buchanan endorsed Herman Cain’s controversial claim that black voters have been “brainwashed” into voting Democratic — and, on Thursday, he added some very controversial opinions of his own to the mix. On Wednesday, Cain told CNN that black voters “have been brainwashed into not being open-minded, not even considering a conservative point of view.” The comment received a lot of attention, and MSNBC’s Martin Bashir asked Buchanan about it on his Thursday show. Buchanan said he wholeheartedly approved. “I think the African American community has embraced Great Society liberalism which has been devastating for the African American family,” he said. “…I admire Herman Cain for standing up and going against, if you will, the conventional wisdom, and being a tough African American businessman.” “Brainwashed?” Bashir said. “That’s a fairly strong term.” “I think what he’s saying is they bought a lot of liberal propaganda on the liberal plantation and I think he’s right!” Buchanan replied staunchly. “On the liberal plantation. Wow.” Bashir said. “That’s right,” Buchanan said. Buchanan got himself into hot water In August when he called President Obama “your boy” to Al Sharpton. (Buchanan later clarified his remarks.) MORE

White House Garage Sale? Obama Plan Proposes Selling Underused Property

One federal government’s trash is another man’s treasure. At least that’s the reasoning behind one aspect of President Obama’s deficit reduction proposal. The plan, which has received bi-partisan support, would sell underused pieces of government property including islands and airstrips in an attempt to raise revenue to help tackle the federal government’s growing budget deficit, according to The New York Times. “It’s a very compelling initiative that has very broad national support,” FCC chair Julius Genachowski said according to The New York Times. “It’s market oriented, it contributes to deficit reduction, and it gets big things done that really everyone supports.” This isn’t the first time that the White House has suggested selling off idle property. In March, the Washington Post reported that the Obama administration intended to sell off thousands of vacant government buildings. “The government doesn’t need all of these properties,” Jeffrey Zients, deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, then said, according to WaPo. Whether selling off underused land could bring about substantial deficit reduction has been called into question. The Congressional Budget Office, for one, isn’t convinced the president’s first proposal would matter all that much. A July CBO report on selling federal property read: CBO’s review of the President’s proposal concluded that it was not likely to significantly increase receipts from sales of federal property in part because there is only a limited amount of excess property with significant market value and there are numerous legal, practical, and political obstacles to the sale of such property. Yet according to a December 2010 report by the General Services Administration, the number of underutilized federal building only grew in the first years of the recession. Combine that with the large number of government layoffs since the official start of the recovery, and all those federal buildings are looking increasingly lonely. Another popular aspect of President Obama’s deficit reduction proposal, the so-called Buffett rule’s millionaire tax, has also drawn scrutiny as being more of a reduction tool in name only. Reverting the tax structure to pre-Bush levels, for example, would only bring down the 2009 federal deficit by 4.5 percent, The Atlantic notes.

Sara Leal, Ashton Kutcher Together At Night Club? Pic Shows Blonde In Car (PHOTO)

Following TheDirty.com’s report alleging that Ashton Kutcher cheated on Demi Moore when he slept with 23-year old blonde Sara Leal, photos of that may show the two leaving a nightclub, dated June 1st, have emerged online. Radar Online reported on Wednesday that Leal was meeting with an attorney Tuesday night; the site also reports that she has deleted all of her social media accounts. Kutcher and Moore did not spend their 6th wedding anniversary together; he partied in California while she spent time in New York. The report on TheDirty is one of two allegations of infidelity against Kutcher; a report in Star Magazine alleges Ashton Kutcher cheated on wife Demi Moore with a 21-year old brunette. While neither Kutcher or Moore have officially commented on the allegations, there have been possible hints left via social media. On September 23rd, Moore tweeted a quote from Greek philosopher Epictetus, writing, “When we are offended at any man’s fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger.” Early Thursday morning, Kutcher tweeted a link to Public Enemy’s song “Don’t Believe The Hype,” which contains the lyrics, “Some media is the wack/as you believe it’s true/it blows me through the roof/suckers, liars, get me a shovel/some writers I know are d— devils/for them I say, don’t believe the hype.” He just now (1:29 PM EST) tweeted, “When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME.” Married since 2005, the couple was hit with allegations of infidelity in 2010, when Star claimed Kutcher had cheated on Moore. They also had texts Kutcher allegedly sent another woman, 21-year old Brittney Jones. Kutcher slammed that report. “I think Star magazine calling me a ‘cheater’ qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees,” he wrote on Twitter. “STAR magazine – you don’t get to stand behind ‘freedom of the press when you are writing fiction.” PHOTO:

Pour one out for the Tevatron particle accelerator, because it’s shutting down today

The eyes of the physics community are collectively fixed upon Illinois today, where, later this afternoon, researchers at Fermilab will shut down the Tevatron particle accelerator… for good. That’s right — the world’s second-largest collider is being laid to rest, after a remarkable 25-year run that was recently halted due to budgetary constraints. Earlier this year, Fermilab’s scientists and a group of prominent physicists pleaded with the government to keep the Tevatron running until 2014, but the Energy Department ultimately determined that the lab’s $100 million price tag was too steep, effectively driving a nail through the accelerator’s subterranean, four-mile-long coffin. First activated in 1985, the Tevatron scored a series of subatomic breakthroughs over the course of its lifespan, including, most notably, the discovery of the so-called top quark in 1995. Its groundbreaking technology, meanwhile, helped pave the way for CERN’s Large Hadron Collider , which will now pursue the one jewel missing from the Tevatron’s resume — the Higgs boson. Many experts contend that the collider could’ve gone on to achieve much more, but its ride will nonetheless come to an inglorious end at 2PM today, when Fermilab director Pier Oddone oversees the Tevatron’s last rites. “That will be it,” physicist Gregorio Bernardi told the Washington Post . “Then we’ll have a big party.” Pour one out for the Tevatron particle accelerator, because it’s shutting down today originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 30 Sep 2011 08:43:00 EDT. Fiddy Cent gets into the headphone game with SYNC by 50, countdown to Ford lawsuit begins… now

Well, after the termination of 50 Cent’s alignment with Sleek , it was only a matter time before the rapper’s SMS Audio company filled the void. (After all, how do you know your cans are quality if they haven’t been endorsed by a man who was shot nine times and survived.) We don’t know when the wireless SYNC by 50 headphones will arrive or how much they’ll cost, but you can bet the part-time actor and entrepreneur will be making the rounds , trying to sell us on the 40mm driver, 50-foot range, “professionally tuned digital EQ” and noise cancellation. While the integrated music controls are nice, our favorite feature might be the ability to connect four sets of SYNCs to the same source. Check out the gallery below and a few choice specs from the data sheet after the break.
