I don’t often have sex dreams but when I do, my dad features in them quite a lot. In the dream it is never taboo or unpleasant, but I wake up feeling disturbed and disgusted with my subconscious. In real life I have a good relationship with him and I’ve never been abused. I’ve had a couple of satisfying sexual relationships with guys my own age (I’m in my mid-20s) and am not aware of any issues relating to this topic except that my dad came out when I was a young teenager, and for a while I was worried anyone I ended up with would also turn out to be gay. Could the dreams be confronting that fear? Or is it fairly normal to have taboo dreams? It is certainly common to have dreams depicting taboo acts, but their meanings are usually more complex. Your recurring dreams are not really about having sex with your father. Dreams give an insight into the unconscious mind. If your father in your dream represents a part of you, which part would it be? Perhaps it’s a part of you with which you have a strong, unconscious desire to connect – but of which you’re afraid. Lawrence O’Donnell had a wild, high-decibel, nearly incomprehensible interview on his Wednesday program with so-called “birther queen” Orly Taitz, at whom he grew so enraged that he cut the interview short halfway through. O’Donnell had brought Taitz on in the wake of President Obama’s release of his long form birth certificate. O’Donnell wanted to see if Taitz would finally admit that her doubts about Obama’s citizenship were false. Taitz, however, had other plans, and began holding up what she said was a copy of Obama’s Selective Service papers and accusing him of committing Social Security fraud. In response, O’Donnell began shouting over and over again, “will you talk about his birth certificate?!” Taitz, no stranger to television hosts shouting at her, continued implacably, not letting O’Donnell’s fury interrupt her. Finally, O’Donnell simply ended the interview. “Alright that’s it,” he shouted. “Get her out of here. Get her off this show!” Turning to the camera, he addressed the viewers. “Look, she’s crazy,” he said. “I invited a crazy person on this show to see if the crazy person…could say something responsive, something human, to the document that was released today…and she wants to play with all of her other kid’s toys.” WATCH: Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Well, it looks like the record quarters from tech companies just keep on coming — this time it’s Microsoft, which just reported $16.43 billion in revenue in its third-quarter results, a jump of 13 percent from the previous year, and well ahead of analysts’ expectations. Net income clocked in at $5.23 billion, a whopping 31 percent increase from the previous year, with Microsoft citing strong sales of Office 2010, Xbox and Kinect as key driving factors. The company also reiterated that it’s sold a staggering 350 million Windows 7 licenses so far, and said that its Entertainment & Devices Division has grown a full 60 percent year-over-year — again, largely fueled by those record-setting sales of Kinect and continued strong sales of Xbox 360 consoles and Xbox Live. As for Windows Phone, Microsoft unfortunately isn’t providing much in the way of specifics — on its earnings call, it only went as far as to say that “product reviews are good” and “customer satisfcation is high,” and that developer interest has increased following its announcement of the Nokia partnership. It was unsurprisingly a bit more eager to divulge specifics for its gaming business, though, and revealed that it has sold 2.4 million Kinect sensors in Q3, along with 2.7 million Xbox 360 consoles — the latter of which is a new third quarter record for the company. MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews on Thursday continued to obsess over his favorite issue, the birthers. He excoriated the Republican Party, smearing that the “haters” now “have a party to call all their own, the GOP.” Painting with a broad brush, Matthews mocked, “How did the right-wing fringe manage to take over the Republican Party?” He later repeated the talking point, wondering, “Coming up, the party with the fringe on top? How did the right-wing fringe get control of a major political party?” Of course, a 2006 Scripps Howard poll found that 50.8 percent of Democrats believed it was “somewhat” or “very” likely that George W. Bush knew in advance of the plot to murder 3000 Americans on 9/11. That would seem to indicate that there are a significant number of “haters” in the Democratic Party.
