MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Monday excoriated the Tea Party as full of “hate,” using the term 10 times in less than two minutes. Comparing the alliance between the Republican Party and the Tea Party to a union, he mocked, “Why would anyone marry for hate rather than love?” The Hardball host derided, ” …The marriage between the Republicans and the Tea Party is based on hatred, hatred of government, hatred of the Democrats, hatred of Barack Obama. ” In one minute and 57 seconds, Matthews used the word “hate or “hatred” ten times. [Video to appear shortly] He summarized the lack of support for some GOP presidential candidates as being “Republicans [who] will not say what the Tea Parties live for, the hatred of government, of the Democrats, of President Obama.” Of course, many liberals and Democrats worked up a pretty good hatred for George W. Bush. But, perhaps Matthews has forgotten that. Why settle for a robot that can just roll or fly ? That’s the question some researchers from the University of Minnesota’s Center for Distributed Robotics recently asked themselves, and this little transforming contraption is their answer. As you can see in the video above, it’s able to roll around on the ground with relative ease (although obstacles may be another matter), and then prop itself up to take flight like any other robotic helicopter. Those thinking about trying their hand at a DIY version may want to think twice, however, as its not exactly as simple as it may appear. In fact, the researchers apparently spent a full $20,000 just to develop the folding rotor mechanism. As Newt Gingrich was trying to explain himself this morning on Mike Gallagher’s show, Rep. Paul Ryan was on Laura Ingraham’s show responding to Gingrich’s comments from over the weekend . Ryan wasn’t nearly so conciliatory as Gingrich was. “With friends like that, who needs the left’” Ouch. Given this row, Gingrich’s presidential campaign may well have begun and ended on the same week.
