That didn’t stop Tennessee Representative and one of my least favorite flame throwers Marsha Blackburn from praising St. Ronnie at the Republican Leadership Conference this weekend as the one who’s “values” they should “coalesce around.” BLACKBURN: Well it is absolutely fantastic to be here with you in New Orleans for the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, and I am thrilled that we are holding this during the centennial of Ronald Reagan’s birth. Those values that he coalesced around, faith, family, freedom, hope, opportunity; those are the values that he took with him to Washington in 1980. Those are the values that we need to take back to Washington today. And we need to remember that those are the values that need to be in the White House in November 2012 and we need to get out there and win this one for the Gipper! Whoo-hooo! Let’s win one for St. Ronnie! I’m not holding my breath for anyone in our corporate media to ever ask any of them about whether their patron saint would survive a GOP primary today now that the John Birch Society, libertarian, extreme right wing of their party has apparently become the mainstream.

CBS's new chief White House correspondent said this weekend that Republicans are more uncomfortable with a Fox News commentator as presidential candidate than they are a Mormon. She claimed on “The Chris Matthews Show” she found this information in the crosstabs of a recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll (video follows with transcript and commentary): NORAH O’DONNELL, CHIEF WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT CBS NEWS: I went in the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll and I checked the cross tabs on the amount of people that find that they are uncomfortable with a Mormon as a candidate, and actually among Republicans, they’re more uncomfortable with a Fox commentator than they are a Mormon. CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Who’s the Fox commentator? O’DONNELL: Any Fox commentator. [Laughter] O’DONNELL: They’re more uncomfortable with them being a Fox commentator than being a Mormon according to the cross tabs of our NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. MATTHEWS: Hmmm. I'm not questioning the new White House correspondent, but I examined the 31 pages of the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Thursday and I can't find what O'Donnell was talking about. The only reference to Fox is on page 28 in a question about where respondents get their news from. As for the word “Mormon,” it appears twice on page 31 in questions about respondents' religious beliefs. As such, I have no idea where O'Donnell got this from.

Sure, you could use your printer to spit out spreadsheets, but how about hooking up a DualShock 3 to play it like a video game? That’s exactly what Joshua Noble and the undef duo did during a workshop related to OFFF last week, and the result is stunning (if not hilarious). The trio coded a game in openFrameworks , titled Receipt Racer , which uses a thermal receipt printer modded with a “light beamer” to display game info and represent a car, a DS3 to control it, and a laptop to connect the devices and run the software. A random track with obstacles gets rapidly printed while a player attempts to navigate it without crashing — sort of like Lane Splitter — or until the paper roll runs out after 164 feet.
