Continue reading …We’ve got a little more detail on those four new pre-orderable phones up in Best Buy Mobile’s business this week now that the news has gone from leak status to official, and needless to say, the truth is even stranger than fiction. The Dell Streak will be available for the first time in retail stores for $299.99 on contract come October 24, joined by a white version of Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate for $149.99 on contract; those two will be followed on November 8 by the HTC Surround for $199. Here’s where it gets interesting, though: the white Sony Ericsson X10 for AT&T — also rumored in our original leak — will come pre-loaded with “The Essential Taylor Swift Experience,” which frankly doesn’t paint a picture of the target demographic we’d really expected. But hey, we like surprises! What does her essential experience entail, exactly? Two albums, a new single, ringtone and video content, and access to her new album when it launches on October 25. This bad boy also comes in on October 24 for $99 on contract. Best Buy claims that all four of these are in-store exclusives… which, particularly with the Surround, is pretty insane. Follow the break for the press release. Continue reading …It’s funny that the most interesting iPad accessories so far have been the ones that try to squeeze Apple’s tablet into more traditional shapes — we’ve seen a wave of rebranded Bluetooth keyboard cases that ape the netbook form factor, a number of cases that aim for a Moleskine vibe (including some from Moleskine itself ), and even an official Etch-a-Sketch case . And now we’ve got SMK-Link’s PadDock 10, an iPad stand that unapologetically turns your tablet into the tiny touchscreen iMac you’ve maybe always wanted. But is it worth $99 for a rotating stand and some speakers? We just got one to play with — read on for our full review. Continue reading …The first time Nokia’s N8-00 popped up on our radar was way back in early February of this year. On that chilly, misty morning, we learned of a mythical being capable of shooting 12 megapixel stills, recording 720p video, outputting via HDMI, and — most importantly — ushering in the promised Symbian^3 touch revolution. It’s been a long road of leaks , teasers , hands-ons , and previews since then, but at long last, the legend of the N8 has become a purchasable commodity. All the early specs have survived, including the 3.5-inch AMOLED display, but the key question today, as it was at the beginning, relates to that all-new software within: does Symbian^3 succeed in elevating Nokia’s touchscreen experience or does it drag down an otherwise stellar combination of high-end parts? For that verdict and much, much more, join us after the break. Continue reading …… And Colbert Weighs In You may recall this story surfacing over the summer: A police squad raided Rawesome, an organic food co-op, guns drawn, because it was allegedly selling raw milk. Besides scaring the crap out of the management and organic shoppers, it created a stir in the organic food community. There’s been renewed controversy over the fact that the FDA designates raw milk’s to be illegal, and the severe — and wholly inappropriate — overreaction by the LAPD shown in the video certainly raises the stakes. Luckily, a certain uber-conservative satirist is on hand to sort the whole mess out: Video of the raid an… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Designed to mimic a conventional petrol pump, the DC Fast Charger should blend right in when installed in Best Buy parking lots , gas stations and beyond, with the company aiming to get these positioned in a wide variety of locations in order to ease “range anxiety.” We’re also told that motorists will eventually be able to utilize the Blink Network Smartphone Application in order to locate the nearest charging station and receive GPS directions, and an RFID-enabled payment system makes it easy to drain your wallet, rejuvenate your vehicle and get you back on the open road. There’s even a 42-inch LCD on the top, and while it’s primarily engineered for ads and information, we’re sure a few wire swaps would have your Xbox 360 displayed in no time flat. The DC Fast Charger should be hitting 16 major American cities in the near future, and there’s a video after the break to tide you over.
