When the detestable Rep. Alan Grayson was defeated by 18 points on Election Day many of us assumed his next job would be as an MSNBC host, however we couldn’t figure out where they’d fit him in.

MSNBC’s Cenk Uygur Claims George W. Bush Confessed to ‘War Crimes’ in New Memoir

In a wretched attempt to re-litigate the past, MSNBC contributor Cenk Uygur indicted former President George W. Bush for war crimes. Bellowing today from his regular perch on “The Dylan Ratigan Show,” Uygur mischaracterized the 43rd President's position on the waterboarding of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed as “go ahead and torture him basically” before demanding that Bush be prosecuted for allegedly violating Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions. “Now it seems to me we have a confession here of a war crime and a clear violation of international and United States law,” proclaimed Uygur. “President George W. Bush should go to jail for at least 10 years.” The alleged “confession” Uygur referred to is an excerpt from Bush's new memoir, “Decision Points,” in which the former commander-in-chief reaffirms his decision to condone the use of waterboarding as an enhanced-interrogation technique for suspected terrorists. Balt Sun Media Critic: MSNBC ‘Pumping Irrational Fear’ Into Viewers

There's a cable news channel out there operating with a single partisan voice, and doing its best to scare the pants off of viewers as the new Congress approaches. Listening to much of the media, you might think that network was Fox. But in fact Fox has a wealth of opinions on air, though most of its prime time hosts are consistently conservative. And while certainly a number of critics try to paint FNC as “fear-mongers,” it's been MSNBC that has really gone full force with the doom-saying this week. Baltimore Sun media critic David Zurawik is absolutely livid about it, and has devoted considerable space this week to bashing MSNBC for its apocalyptic tone. read more

Study: Keith ‘I’m Not a Liberal’ Olbermann Avoids Conservative Guests Like Plague

Keith Olbermann has become very upset lately at people who claim MSNBC and Fox News are two sides of the same coin – ideological cable news counterparts. Olbermann is right to object to that distinction, but not for the reason he thinks. Unlike his 8 pm Fox News competitor Bill O'Reilly, Olbermann prefers not to have dissenting voices on his show. According to Philadelphia Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky, Olbermann did not host a single conservative on “Countdown” last week . O'Reilly, meanwhile, brought 11 liberals on his show. read more

There seems to be a schism between two of the media giants that lefties hold in high regard – the entire MSNBC network and Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart. After Stewart took a few jabs at MSNBC during his Oct. 30 Washington, D.C. rally, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann took umbrage at the equivalency Stewart drew between his network and the Fox News Channel. In Olbermann’s view, Fox News Channel is a source of evil in the world, while MSNBC is a source of good. However, Stewart, who admittedly sees things from a liberal worldview, questioned MSNBC’s role in damaging political discourse. Video Below Fold read more

GOP Strategist Schools Matthews: Palin’s Resumé Just As Strong As Obama’s Was

For the second time in three weeks, a Republican strategist has taught MSNBC's Chris Matthews a lesson about how former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's qualifications for president are just as strong as Barack Obama's when he ran back in 2008. This time the GOPer educating the “Hardball” host was Todd Harris (video follows with transcript and commentary): read more

Rachel Maddow Confronts Angry, Uninformed Voters

There’s nothing unfair, disrespectful or manipulative about what the MSNBC host does here. She simply asks these Joe Miller supporters in Alaska to explain why they’re so upset and … they can’t. Related Entries October 28, 2010 The Rise of Sewer Money October 27, 2010 Playing the Mommy Card
