The feds are tracking hackers who have slipped past the NASDAQ’s computer defenses several times over the past year, reports the Wall Street Journal. The part of the network that handles trades doesn’t appear to have been penetrated, and virtually speaking, nothing has been taken, the Journal notes. “So far,…

As Cairo and its people come under attack, we explore life under Hosni Mubarak’s regime – the numbers and the analysis. Alienware M11x starting at just $599, but not for long

Alienware’s M11x was never outrageously priced — at least not in comparison to Dell’s Adamo XPS — but there’s just something beautiful about sneaking in under that magical $600 mark. Right around a year after it was first introduced, the world’s most potent ultraportable is stooping to just $599 in a presumed effort to clear out inventory. Dell makes no bones about this being a “limited quantity sale,” with the baseline model sporting 2GB of DDR3-800 memory, a 64-bit copy of Windows 7 Home Premium, 160GB 5400RPM hard drive, an overclockable 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo SU7300, 11.6-inch WLED panel (1366 x 768), 1.3 megapixel webcam, an integrated 10/100 NIC and a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M GPU. Naturally, the Sandy Bridge models will cost you more, but if you’re kosher with buying yesterday’s best, that source link is where you need to head, STAT. Obama: Mubarak must make ‘right decision’

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama has delivered a clear hint that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak should step down now, saying the proud “patriot” should listen to his people and make the “right decision.” Obama did not explicitly call on Mubarak to resign, but said the Arab strongman had already made the psychological leap of realizing his rule was ebbing, and now should reconsider his position amid a mass uprising. The US president staked out a veiled, but forceful, position as tens of thousands of demonstrators held “departure day” protests in Cairo, and the United States sought a way to prod Mubarak to the exit after 30 years in power….

Genre: The Pretenders Title: Brass In Pocket One of the most surreal days of my life was a train ride I took from Tokyo to Osaka with Jeff Beck in the seat behind me, Carlos Santana in the seat in front of me, and Chrissie Hynde in the seat across the aisle from me. Although Jeff Beck is a hero, I was completely starstuck by Chrissie Hynde to the point where I could hardly look her way. Anyway, here’s a classic from the Pretenders. Who’s your favorite rocker chick?
