ABC & CBS Exploit Senate Race They Obsess Over to Regurgitate Ridicule for Palin

Airing rare stories on a U.S. Senate debate, ABC, CBS and NBC all ran full reports Thursday night on the only race they repeatedly find newsworthy, one in which the Republican is behind by double-digits, as ABC and CBS exploited the Delaware debate to regurgitate ridicule for Sarah Palin. “[Christine] O'Donnell's toughest moment came when she was asked to name a recent Supreme Court decision with which she disagreed,” asserted CBS's Nancy Cordes, “a question that also tripped up her mentor, Sarah Palin,” back in 2008. On ABC, Jonathan Karl echoed how “O'Donnell got tripped up when asked to name a Supreme Court decision she disagrees with,” which Karl called “a flashback to 2008 when another candidate got asked the same question.” read more

Belkin’s Conserve Gateway checks in with the FCC, may be at your utility company

Belkin just got official with its Converse Gateway wireless energy monitoring system earlier this month, and already it looks to be making a beeline to your local utility company. As the temperatures drop and energy use skyrockets, this here setup is designed to attach to a smart meter on the exterior of your home and beam information about usage to your PC (in a nutshell, anyway). Any smart device that’s connected in your home can be listed in the UI, giving you a heads-up as to what youngster is burnin’ up the most juice when you leave on business for the weekend. Per usual, a stop by the FCC’s database generally signals a near-term release in the US of A, with Wireless Goodness suggesting that these are already starting to pop up around the country. Though, you’ll have to phone up your local energy company to inquire about a professional installation — we don’t get the impression that these are going to be stocked at Wally World. Another worthy addition to my teen driver collection : A teenager who just passed his driving test crashed into a state driver license center in western Pennsylvania. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon as the teen was trying to leave the parking lot of a driver license center in the Pittsburgh suburb of Bridgeville. Officials say at least three people were injured, but their injuries were not considered serious. Township police Sgt. Brian Halbleib told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that the accident happened when the teen pulled into the parking lot of the driver license center to drop off the man who had administered the test. Halbleib says the teen thought the car was in park but it wasn’t. I’m guessing he’ll get the chance to try that again.

Because they can’t : “Cell phones cannot cause cancer, because they do not emit enough energy to break the molecular bonds inside cells. Some forms of electromagnetic radiation, such as x-rays, gamma rays and ultraviolet (UV) radiation, are energetic enough to break the bonds in key molecules such as DNA and thereby generate mutations that lead to cancer. Electromagnetic radiation in the form of infrared light, microwaves, television and radio signals, and AC power is too weak to break those bonds, so we don’t worry about radios, televisions, microwave ovens and power outlets causing cancer.” We have bazillions of radio waves passing through our bodies all the time with little sign of damage (though liberalism could be traced to excessive exposure to MSNBC or NPR).

ATHENS—Greek labor tensions heightened Thursday, as a railway strike caused travel chaos and police and workers clashed outside the country’s most revered archeological treasure.
