Plucky Soldiers: Manscaping Makes It to the Military

Bravery comes in many forms. Sometimes it’s charging to the front lines, and sometimes it’s taking a hard line on facial grooming. According to the Wall Street Journal, some American male soldiers stationed in Afghanistan are getting their eyebrows shaped into “slender arches” via threading, plucking or shaving. This despite a Marine Corps regulation, added

‘Glee’ Storyline Sparks an Adoption Controversy Online

It’s no secret that Glee has a flair for the dramatic, but this time it may have gone too far. Jawbone’s Up wristband warms up at AT&T store, wants you faster, stronger

Jawbone’s fitness-obsessed wristband appears to be closing in on the retail finish line. The Up pairs with what appears to be an iOS app, (no news on whether an Android version is in the pipeline), and will pile on the guilt about your disgustingly sedentary lifestyle. You can have the luxury of feeling like a weight loss reality show contestant by scheduling “get up and move” reminders when you’ve succumbed to watching back-to-back mediocre sitcoms with a Doritos family bag chaser. There’s also a sleep tracker and a challenge tab to plot your amazing weight loss journey (or descent to an early demise) against friends and family. It’ll monitor what you eat, and even tell you which foods “help you feel your best.” (We think it’s cake.) No word on price or arrival date just yet, so you’ll just have to put up with Autom until we hear more. A brand of gummy candy is sour-apple flavored and doesn’t contain cannabis, but some parents and activists are outraged over its leaf shape. Critics say the candy encourages children to smoke pot. “We’re already dealing with a high amount of drug abuse and drug activity and trying to raise children so they don’t think using

Urban Outfitters Taken to Task for Faux ‘Navajo’ Products

Earlier this week, Sasha Houston Brown of Minneapolis published an open letter to the company’s CEO as a guest contributor on the blog Racialicious. Brown posits that the frequent use of “Navajo”
