Netanyahu, Lieberman maintain restraint in comments on Cairo crisis

Following the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Cairo over the weekend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is demanding that Egypt substantially increase security around the embassy. This would enable the Israeli ambassador, Yitzhak Levanon, who, along with most of the embassy staff, was evacuated to Israel over the weekend, to return to the Egyptian capital. According to Israeli Foreign Ministry sources, Israel wants assurances that the events of the past weekend around the embassy – which included the destruction by the crowd of a security wall that had just been installed to protect it – would not be repeated.
