We had Inflation, Stagflation, Whip Inflation Now and host of other economic maladies in between. In 1970, NBC Radio as part of their Second Sunday Documentary series, ran this episode called Inflation: The Economic Plague from March 3, 1970. On hand were a host of pundits, including Milton Friedman and the Chicago School of Economics, which loomed large during the Nixon years and every sign that things weren’t getting any better or planning on getting better any time soon. And 41 years later, it’s still about the economy.
