Women Pose Awkwardly in Public as Satire of Fashion Photography

In her performance piece “Poses,” Spanish artist Yolanda Dominguez created a witty satire of fashion photography by having women awkwardly hold exaggerated fashion poses in public places, much to the confusion of onlookers (video). “Poses” is a direct criticism of the absurd and artificial world of glamour and of fashion that magazines present.
