The head of Goldman Sachs hired a top white-collar criminal defense lawyer amid a Justice Department investigation into the bank’s activities. Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein hired Reid Weingarten, who previously has represented former WorldCom CEO Bernie Ebbers–currently serving a 25-year prison sentence for fraud and conspiracy–as well as a former Enron accounting officer.
