Bin Laden’s Deputy Al-Zawahri Now Heads Al-Qaida

Ayman al-Zawahri, al-Qaida deputy leader under Osama bin Laden, will lead the militant network in the wake of bin Laden’s death. The announcement about his appointment appeared on the Internet Thursday. (16 June 2011)
