Pirates Take UCLA Pitcher First in MLB Draft

The Pittsburgh Pirates selected hard-throwing UCLA righty Gerrit Cole with the No. 1 pick in the baseball draft Monday. Cole was only 6-8 this season, but throws a fastball that was consistently clocked at 95 mph. (June 6)
