Alec Baldwin has seemingly mastered the impressive skill of both taking life very, very seriously, and lampooning those who do so as well. See: his outspoken political activism, juxtaposed with his award-winning executive farce in “30 Rock.” When it comes to baseball, though, the lines are a little bit blurred. A longtime Yankees fan, Baldwin stars alongside noted Red Sox fan — and fellow NBC Thursday Night leading man — John Krasinski in a new series of ads for hat maker New Era (see the first one here). Baldwin plays himself as an insanely competitive Yankees fan with a crazy streak — half real life, half Jack Donaghy. And, no surprise, Krasinski plays himself as cool a customer as Jim Halpert, though it doesn’t quite pay off for his face in this new TV spot. Oh, and in a case of life following art: Baldwin really won’t be happy with Friday night’s news, as Boston slipped past the Yankees, 5-4. WATCH:
