Mob kills 8 U.N. workers in Afghanistan

Officials say a crowd of up to 1,000 people attacked the United Nations compound in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e-Sharif, killing eight guards believed to be from the Philippines. The attack was sparked by a mosque sermon describing the burning of the Koran by an American pastor. Afghan protesters burn a U.S. flag during a demonstration against the burning of a Koran last month by Florida pastors Wayne Sapp and Terry Jones.
