Nuclear Expert: Situation in Japan Is Dire

Japan is working to avert a catastrophic release of radiation. The troubles at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex started when last Friday’s quake and tsunami knocked out power, crippling cooling systems needed to avoid a nuclear fuel meltdown. (March 14)
